ASSEMBLY BILL 329 (PAN)-Statement from Fan Freedom

Posted by Kassy Perry

STATEMENT FROM FAN FREEDOM’S DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATION, CHRIS GRIMM

“Fan Freedom is disappointed the Assembly Committee on Arts, Entertainment, Sports, Tourism and Internet Media stripped consumer protections from Assembly Bill 329 (Pan), the Ticket Holder Bill of Rights. However, we continue to support addressing anti-consumer robotic ticket-buying software, or “bots,” which cut in line and gobble up tickets, preventing the average fan from obtaining tickets to concerts and other live events. Fan Freedom also supports strengthening the law to require ticket sellers to report bots’ use to the Attorney General’s office and other provisions that will ensure fans have fair access to face value tickets. AB 329 will continue to provide fans with the protection and assurance they deserve when clicking the purchase tab online.”
