(SACRAMENTO, Calif.) – Today, Perry Communications Group (PCG), an award-winning, Sacramento‑based public affairs and strategic communications firm, celebrated its 30th anniversary, a milestone built on integrity, authenticity, and creativity.
“This work is about people first,” said Kassy Perry, president and CEO. “We develop strategies and tell stories that spark change, and move important issues forward in a meaningful way. As we reflect on 30 years, and look ahead to the future, I’m proud of the campaigns we’ve launched, the causes we’ve supported, and the incredible people that I continue to call colleagues, clients, and friends.”
PCG’s early work helped define its reputation for bold, effective advocacy. Among the firm’s first nationally recognized campaigns was its partnership with former Today Show host Katie Couric to raise awareness about colorectal cancer screenings and the need for Medicare coverage. In March 2000, Couric underwent a live colonoscopy on national television, sparking a positive rise in screening rates – a phenomenon later known as the “Katie Couric Effect” – and ultimately contributing to Medicare’s coverage of colonoscopies.
Over the past 30 years, PCG has worked with Fortune 500 companies, nonprofit organizations, industry associations, and advocacy groups, helping to build coalitions, shape public conversation, and mobilize support around complex issues. The firm has been involved in a wide range of public affairs efforts across health care, behavioral health, aging, public safety, preservation, transportation, and more. In the last decade, this work included helping advance California’s Master Plan for Aging, supporting the creation and ongoing funding of the state’s first comprehensive adult sickle cell care network, and elevating public understanding of rising health care costs and the role of pharmacy middlemen through sustained advocacy and collaboration.
“I’m fortunate to have had a front-row seat to PCG’s evolution, seeing what it takes to build a firm with purpose. This anniversary represents more than longevity, it reflects decades of meaningful work and the values that have defined this firm from day one,” said Kaitlin Perry, managing partner. “I’m proud of how we’re honoring that legacy while charting our own path forward. The issues will evolve, but what doesn’t change is how we show up for our clients and one another: with thoughtful strategy, real relationships, and a team that genuinely cares about the work and the impact it has on people’s lives.”
