The California Black Health Network Announces Health Equity Forum Speaker Series

Virtual series focuses on improving health equity for Black Californians

(SACRAMENTO, CA) – With the goal of increasing the life expectancy of Black Californians by 15% by the end of 2023, the California Black Health Network (CBHN) today announced its upcoming Health Equity Forum speaker series. These free, conversational-style, virtual events will bring together world-renowned public healthcare professionals, community leaders, and public and private executives focused on closing significant health equity gaps among black Californians.

“We know that providing information and support from trusted community professionals is a key driver to improving Black health and the Health Equity Forum series brings these important voices to Black communities throughout the state,” said Rhonda M. Smith, CBHN Executive Director.

The Health Equity Forum series covers critical health equity topics such as Covid-19 vaccine hesitancy, dispelling healthcare myths, cancer and other disease disparities, the recognition of unsung heroes in healthcare, and more.

“The CBHN Health Equity Forums provide an important opportunity to educate the community on critical issues related to improving the health and well-being of Black Californians and expose them to key thought leadership. I am elated to have the opportunity to engage in a conversation with Dr. Kizzmekia Corbett, someone who I deeply respect for her tremendous contribution to the development of the COVID-19 vaccine.
