Julia Spiess Lewis, Senior Vice President


Julia is an accomplished issues-management specialist who brings a powerful mix of skills that drive smart strategy and seamless project implementation. With her innate ability to quickly grasp and prioritize information, Julia cuts through to what matters when developing campaigns for corporate and nonprofit clients. Her ability to organize information also makes her a wizard at moving ideas into action, i.e., getting things done.

At PCG, Julia served as the media strategist for the California State Parks Foundation’s nationally recognized “Save Our State Parks” campaign, which generated unprecedented media attention and put public pressure on the governor to protect parks. Julia developed Visit California’s “Why Travel Matters” public affairs program and spearheaded West Health’s “We Stand With Seniors” campaign. She also led successful community relations efforts for a power company siting an alternative energy facility in Northern California and has worked for many years with the Bonnie J. Addario Lung Cancer Foundation to promote lung cancer awareness and raise money for research and patient support.

Julia earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism, with an emphasis in news editorial, and a minor in political science from California State University, Chico. Before joining Perry Communications Group in 2001, Julia served on the staff of a state lawmaker. She has held board positions with California Women Lead’s Sacramento Chapter, a nonpartisan organization that encourages women to be political leaders, and with the International Association of Business Communicators’ Sacramento Chapter (IABC Sacramento) for four terms, which included two as president. She was recognized in 2011 as IABC Sacramento’s Business Communicator of the Year.
